Stainless steel 316ti round bars (uns s31635) is titanium stabilized version of 316 grade bars. These are composed of molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. Alloy 316 ti is known as din number 1.4571. These are more resistance to general, pitting and crevice corrosion than standard nickel and chromium austenitic ss. These have many properties such as stress rupture strength, higher creep, and tensile strength. These round bars can be susceptible to sensitization or grain boundary precipitation. The surface resists grain boundary carbide precipitation at temperatures between 900- 1500 deg f which can result in instant corrosion resistance.

The resistance to sensitization is achieved by the addition of titanium that stabilized structure against chromium carbide precipitation. This property is achieved by heating the products in cyclic temperatures. It reduces the susceptibility of alloy and it can be used in long exposure at higher temperatures. Like other standard grades, it offers excellent resistance to local and general corrosion.

It is a single phase austenitic having face-centered cubic (fcc) structure stainless steel at all temperatures up to its critical point. Alloy 316 cannot be hardened by the heat treatment process. In the annealed state, the grade has non-magnetic structures. The magnetic properties vary with chemical composition and from the cold forming operations.
